En vecka före julafton bjuder Tyska kyrkans musikgrupper in till en stilla stund av eftertanke. Lyssna till musik av kantoriet och blåsensemblen och sjung med oss några tyska och svenska julsånger. Henry Turu och Michael Dierks spelar adventsmusik på Tyska kyrkans båda orglar.
Namnet “Quempas” går tillbaka på den gamla julsången “Quem pastores laudavere” (“Den die Hirten lobeten sehre”). Idag syftar namnet på en tradition där en sång sjungs växelvis av församlingen, körer och solister.

Quempas Singing at the German Church

One week before Christmas Eve, the music groups of the German Church invite you to a contemplative moment of calm. Listen to music from the Kantorei (church choir) and the Bläserey (wind ensemble), and join us in singing German and Swedish Christmas carols. Henry Turu and Michael Dierks will play Advent organ music on both organs of the German Church.
The name “Quempas” derives from the old Christmas carol “Quem pastores laudavere” (“Den die Hirten lobeten sehre”, “Whom the shepherds praised so greatly”). Today it refers to the custom of singing a carol in alternation between congregation, choirs and soloists.
