“Saving Jacey” by Peter Quilter is a contemporary tragicomedy about a father who, in his desperation, organizes a preventive funeral for his still-living daughter, Jacey, in an attempt to save her from a self-destructive life, drug addiction, and a complete loss of direction.
This absurd situation brings together the father, his eccentric sister, and the rebellious teenager in a painfully funny and deeply human confrontation, where love, guilt, and the fear of loss rise to the surface. The play balances between dark humor and intense emotional drama, asking how far a parent can go to save their child.
