Vad skulle en isbjörn säga om han kunde rappa? Följ med iñupiaq-performance artisten som rappar dig transformerande och helande.
What would a polar bear say if he could rap? What about an Ancestor that traveled so far from the past it became the future again? Or a sexy bowhead whale? Join Iñupiaq performance artist AKU-MATU as she raps you into a state of transformation and healing. AKU-MATU is the performance name of Allison Akootchook Warden, who is the recipient of a 2019 United States Artists Award. Beats are created by both Uyarakq and WD4D, who both sampled her traditional Iñupiaq dance sounds. Warden is also a recipient of a 2018 Native Arts and Cultures Foundation Award in the field of Music.
The show is moved to Cosmopolite and there will be free entrance, no ticket needed.
